VIP package

A ticket bundled with extras: early entry, a better view, a meet and greet, merchandise.

Glossary

A VIP package sells the show twice: once as a ticket, once as everything around it. European ticketing platforms list it as a separate ticket type at two to five times the standard price.

What is usually in one

  • Early entry, ahead of general doors.
  • A better position: a raised platform, a front pit, a seated block.
  • A meet and greet, or watching soundcheck.
  • Merchandise: a shirt, a signed print, a laminate.
  • Sometimes a separate bar or toilets.

Who gets the money

The promoter or the ticketing partner builds and sells the package, and the split with the artist goes in the contract. Merchandise inside a package is often exempt from the venue's merchandise split, but only when that is written down.

What it costs the artist

Every element is a promise someone keeps on the day. Early entry needs staff, a meet and greet needs a room and a slot in the day sheet, and signed items need signing. Agree the numbers before the package goes on sale, because once it is sold the obligation is fixed.

Free for artists.

One place to keep your artist's facts, intro, bio, photos, riders and contacts up to date. Change it once and every promoter opens the newest version. Yours at tap.fm/yourname.
