Website

Your website, at your handle.

Bio, your six newest releases, links, channels and a way to reach you. In your own branding. On your own domain if you have one. It reads the profile, so editing the artist is editing the site.

Top to bottom

Someone looks you up.

A promoter who heard the name, a fan who saw the poster. One page answers: who you are, what is new, where you are, and who to write to. About, Music, Videos, Press quotes, Gallery, Shop, Links, Follow and Contacts are sections: you set their order under Website and switch any of them off.

1 The bar The name or the logo, a link to each section the page carries, and your other artist pages. The website is the only artist page with one.
2 The header In the layout you chose: a full hero image, an image beside the name, or the name alone.
3 The name, or the logo Your tagline under it. The verified badge sits in the foot of the page, not beside the name.
4 Listen, and the next page Listen opens your Spotify, or the first streaming channel you have. Beside it Open EPK when the EPK is set so anyone can find it. The pill in the bar of the EPK section sets who can find it. Otherwise Music. Then the channels as an icon row.
5 About The intro, then the bio. The ones you keep under Profile.
6 Music The six newest releases as covers, with All music to the music page. One that is not out yet says the day it lands.
7 Videos Four of the videos you keep under EPK, live sets first, each playing on the page after a press.
8 Press quotes The first three of the quotes you keep under EPK: the line, then who printed it and when.
9 Gallery Your press photos, the ones you upload under EPK.
10 Shop Its own section with your shop image and one button into your store, when you have a shop.
11 Links The top three visible links of the links page, minus any link to a release the website already shows under Music. They play on the page when they can, and All links opens the rest. Called Latest when there is no Music row and the first link plays.
12 Follow One field. A fan leaves an address, confirms it from the mail, and hears from you on release day.
13 Contacts One line per role: the agent with its territories, the manager, and so on, each with an email and a phone where there is one.
14 The foot The claim line, the page nav, the verified badge of a verified artist, and Terms, Privacy, Report and Contact.
Branding

Your branding, not ours.

Light or dark, an accent colour, a pattern and two fonts. On all four pages. The layout is the website's own. Starts as TAP; Reset to TAP puts it back.

Branding

Light or dark, an accent colour, a pattern and two fonts. Under Branding, worn by the website, the links page, the music page and the EPK. The verified badge keeps TAP's colour whatever the branding: it is ours, not the artist's.

Layout

Full image, beside the text, text only, or contacts only. The hero image is wide, at least 1.600px, up to 50 MB. Without one, the page opens on the name.

Logo and favicon

The logo stands in for the name. A screen logo replaces the name in the header of the website and the EPK. The favicon sits in the tab. Both under Profile.

Your own domain

Put it on your domain.

One DNS record proves the domain is yours, four more serve the website from it, three of them to go live. We check for you, so you do not come back to press a button.

  1. 01 Prove it is yours One TXT record at your DNS provider, _tap plus your hostname. We check every 5 minutes for 14 days, and mail you when it is found.
  2. 02 Switch it on Under Website, one press. We show 4 records: one lets the host serve the domain for you, one issues the certificate, one sends visitors to the website, one sends www there too.
  3. 03 Live When the first three records are found the domain shows Live with the date, you get a mail, and anyone who opens the domain sees the website.
  4. 04 Only the website moves The links page, the music page and the EPK stay at the handle, and the website links to them as before. Take the domain off and the website is back at the handle at once.
  5. 05 Every Monday We re-check every live domain. If its records are gone, you get a mail and the artist is untouched: the website is still at the handle.
Where it sits

It reads the artist.

The bio, the links, the contacts and the channels are never duplicated onto the website. Edit them once under Profile, Links and Contacts, and the website shows it.

Your first hour

From handle to website.

Six steps. A bio opens it; a hero image, your branding and your domain make it yours.

1 Claim a handle Lowercase letters and numbers, 3 to 30 characters, at least one letter. Sign in with your email; there is no password. The handle is the address.
2 Add the name and a bio The name as it appears on the bill, up to 120 characters. The bio in Markdown, up to 5.000 characters. The bio is what the website needs to publish.
3 Add a hero image Under Website: wide, at least 1.600px. Without one, the page opens on the name.
4 Pick your branding Light or dark, an accent colour, a pattern and two fonts. Starts as TAP; Reset to TAP puts it back.
5 Publish One button on the overview. The website opens at tap.fm/yourname.
6 Put it on your domain Prove the domain under Verification, switch it on under Website. Optional, and free.

Can I use my own domain? Yes. One DNS record proves the domain is yours, four more serve the website from it, three of them to go live. Free. Read more
What does Reset to TAP change? The colours, pattern and fonts go back to TAP's own. Your logo, favicon and hero image stay, and so does the layout. Read more
Where do the links under Links come from? The top three visible links of the links page, minus any link to a release the website already shows under Music. Reorder them under Links. Read more
Can the page be contacts alone? Yes. Pick the Contacts only layout under Website: the name or the logo, the channels and one line per role, nothing else. Read more
Can I change the order of the page? Yes. The Sections card under Website lists About, Music, Videos, Press quotes, Gallery, Shop, Links, Follow and Contacts in the order the page prints them. Arrows move one, and each opens with a switch to take it off the page. Read more
How big should the hero image be? Wide, at least 1.600px. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 50 MB. One file; uploading another replaces it. Read more
