Who can see each page

Each page is on or off, set on the page itself. Only the EPK has an audience in between. Two switches under Settings cover crawlers.

Publishing

Artists are reachable, not listed: there is no directory of them on TAP. Who can see a page is set in the bar above that page's section: press the button that names its state and pick. The overview repeats the answer next to each page.

On or disabled. On, anyone can find the page: it is linked from your other pages and search engines may list it. Disabled, the page stops answering and nothing points at it. A disabled website leaves the address answering with your name, avatar and channels, because the address is the artist's front door and a domain you connected points at it.

The music page waits until it has one release to show. Below that it stays out of your menu and out of the sitemap, and its address answers as if it were disabled; you still see it yourself, with the way to import.

The EPK

The EPK starts out reachable but unlisted, and has four settings:

  • Anyone can find it: listed by search engines and linked from the website and the links page.
  • Anyone with the link: kept out of search results and out of your menu. The address is still your handle, so anyone who guesses it gets in.
  • Only people you give access: visitors see your avatar and your name, and nothing else. A key you hand out opens the page: Give someone access to the EPK. On the EPK's Access tab you choose the door: Anyone can ask, and a visitor leaves their name, email address and a note for you to decide on, or Invitation only, and only a key you send opens it.
  • Disabled: the address stops answering, and links you handed out stop working.

Riders follow the EPK like the photos. To protect them, set the EPK to 'Only people you give access', or keep them off the EPK and send them by mail.

Search engines and AI crawlers

Two switches under Settings, both on by default. Search engines off tells them not to list any page and takes the artist out of TAP's sitemap. The sitemap holds published artists that have an owner and leave the switch on; an artist nobody has claimed yet is never in it. AI crawlers off refuses the crawlers we know by name when they ask for the pages; TAP's own robots file names none of them, so the switch is the only word on it. Either way the pages still open for anyone with the address.

Still stuck?

Write to us with the handle and what you tried. A person answers, usually the same day.
