What a handle can be

Lowercase letters and numbers, 3 to 30 characters, at least one letter. Some words are kept for TAP itself.

Handle

The handle is the address of the artist. It sits in every link you send.

The rules

  • Lowercase letters and numbers only.
  • 3 to 30 characters.
  • At least one letter.

'nightshift' works. 'night-shift' does not, and neither does '2026'. Accents and spaces are not part of a handle: we suggest one from the artist name by dropping them.

Words we keep

Some words are addresses on TAP itself and cannot be a handle: 'docs', 'legal', 'login', 'api', 'partners' and the like. They answer 'This handle is not available', the same as a handle someone else holds.

A handle that is taken

Handles are first come, first served. If the artist's name is taken, add something that is part of how the artist is known: a city, a label, the word 'live'. Do not fight over a handle by claiming the same artist twice.

Still stuck?

Write to us with the handle and what you tried. A person answers, usually the same day.
