A run of show is the evening written as a timeline in five or ten minute blocks. Anything with more than one thing happening on stage needs one.
Where it is used
- Festivals with several stages and shared changeovers
- Award shows, conferences and corporate events
- Streamed shows, where camera and broadcast cues have to line up
- Any night with a host, video content or an award between sets
What each line holds
Time, what happens, and who does it: house music down, walk-on, set, walk-off, video, host, next artist. Lighting and sound cue numbers sit in a column beside it.
Who owns it
The Stage manager or the production manager writes it and calls it live. Artists receive the block that concerns them plus the two either side, so their walk-on and set time come from the same document everyone else is working from.
