Shared responsibility with artists

How we and an artist divide responsibility when the artist publishes details about someone else, and which of us answers when that person asks.

For people named by an artist

Last updated 8 Sep 2026

When an artist publishes details about somebody other than themselves, we and that artist decide together what happens with those details. Under Article 26 of the GDPR that makes us joint controllers, and it obliges us to publish how we have divided the work. This page is that division.

It is short on purpose. If something here does not answer your question, write to help@tap.fm and we will.

When does this apply?

Only to details about a person who is not the artist.

  • A booking agent, manager or publicist listed as a contact.
  • People named in a rider, such as crew.
  • People who appear in a press photo.

Everything else on an artist is either about the artist itself or created by us, and there we are the only controller. That includes accounts, sign-in, the artist's number, the verification status, and the passport we issue to a person.

Who are the two of us?

Us. Stagent B.V., trading as TAP (The Artist Passport), registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 75826216, at Keizersgracht 520H, 1017 EK Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The artist. The artist whose pages your details appear on. The page names them.

How we have divided it

What has to happen Who does it
Telling you what we hold about you, and why We publish it at Privacy for contacts, with everything Article 14 requires. Article 14(5)(b) allows publication where telling every listed person individually would take disproportionate effort. Ask us and we tell you individually
Having the right to supply your details in the first place The artist does, and warrants to us that it has
Being the address for any question or request We are. One contact point, so you never have to work out who to ask
Answering a request to see, correct, restrict, move or delete your details We do. Where only the artist can change something, we tell you that and pass it on
Acting on an objection, and taking you off the artist We do, on request, without asking why
Reporting a data breach to the regulator and to you We do
Keeping the details accurate and current The artist does. We give you a way to correct them yourself

You can hold either of us to it

This division settles things between us and the artist. It does not limit you. Article 26(3) says you may exercise your rights against either joint controller, whichever you prefer, regardless of what we agreed here.

If you come to us, you do not need to contact the artist. We will handle it.

What if the artist disagrees?

If the artist insists your details belong on their pages and you have asked to be removed, you come off. We do not arbitrate that, and we do not wait for the artist to agree.
