A visitor is whoever opened the page. They did not sign up, they are not coming back on purpose, and they will decide in a few seconds whether this artist is worth the next click.
Three of them, wanting different things
- A promoter checking the artist is real, and looking for the bio and the photos.
- A journalist needing a fact and a name to quote.
- A listener who followed a link from a post and wants the music.
What they never do
They do not read instructions, they do not scroll to find a menu, and they do not sign in to see more. A page that asks a visitor for anything before showing them something has already lost most of them.
Privacy is theirs, not yours
Somebody reading a page has not agreed to anything. Whatever is counted about that visit has to be defensible to the person who made it, not only to the artist who wants the number.
