Terms of service

The agreement between you and us for holding an artist and the passport we issue you. Free, short on purpose, and plain about what we each owe and how it ends.

For artists and their teams

Last updated 25 Sep 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Stagent B.V., trading as TAP (The Artist Passport), registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 75826216, VAT number NL860410055B01, at Keizersgracht 520H, 1017 EK Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

They apply from the moment you create an account. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

What we do

We run a public register of artists. An artist keeps one profile with us, and four pages read it: a website, a links page, a music page and an EPK. Anyone can read a published artist, and applications we have approved can read it through our API, so an artist keeps one profile instead of a form on every platform.

We also issue a passport to a person: a document that names you, carries your photo, and lists the artists you belong to.

The service is free. There is no paid tier, no card, and no seat count.

Who may register an artist

You must be 18 or older, and you must be entitled to represent the artist you are registering. If you are acting for a company, you must have authority to bind it.

One person can manage several artists, and several people can manage one artist.

Your account

You sign in with a link we email you. There are no passwords, so keep control of your mailbox: anyone who reads it can reach your account.

Some actions require a verified phone number, including granting an application access to an artist, asking for verification, and asking us for a passport. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

We may access your account where we need to in order to support you, investigate a breach of these terms, answer a legal request, or protect the service. We do not read an artist for any other reason.

Artists created before you arrive

A profile may exist for your artist before you register, because an app provisioned it or because we did at someone's request.

Such an artist is transferred to you through a sign-in link we email you. Claiming it means accepting these terms and taking responsibility for what is on it. We may refuse or reverse a claim we believe is not yours to make.

Handles

A handle is licensed to you for use with the service. You do not own it, and you acquire no property right in it.

We keep a list of reserved words that cannot be registered. We may reclaim, rename or release a handle that infringes a trademark, impersonates someone, is tied to fraud or a breach of these terms, or is needed to operate the service. Where an artist is in good standing and there is no urgency, we give notice first.

Retired handles keep resolving to the artist, so links other people published do not break.

What you publish

You keep ownership of everything you put on an artist. You grant us the licence we need to run the register: to store it, display it on your public pages, and, once published, make it available through our API to any application we have approved, bound to the purposes in the API conditions of use. Nothing broader. We do not use your material to advertise ourselves without asking, and we do not sublicense it to anyone except as part of serving the register.

You confirm that you hold the rights or have permission for everything you publish, including images, logos, text and other people's details. What is and is not allowed is set out in What you may not publish, which forms part of these terms.

Delete something and the licence for it ends, save for copies already taken by applications under our API conditions of use, which they are required to refresh or delete within the periods stated there.

Verification

Verification means we checked that the people behind the profile are the artist or their team. It is not an endorsement, it says nothing about whether the details on the artist's pages are correct, and it does not establish the identity of any individual. How verification works sets out what the check covers, and when verification is withdrawn.

Verification is free. It is not tied to a plan and cannot be bought.

Your passport

We issue a passport to a person, not to an artist. You can ask for one once you are a member of at least one artist, your email address is confirmed, your phone number is verified, and you have added a photo of yourself. A registrar reads the request and either issues the passport or denies it. You get the reason either way, and you can withdraw a request while it is still open.

An issued passport shows your name, your photo, the date we issued it, and the artists you belong to with your role in each. Leaving every artist does not take it away. A registrar can revoke a passport, with a reason, and you can appeal by replying to it.

The passport is free. It is not tied to a plan and cannot be bought.

Team members and agencies

You can give other people access to an artist. Whoever adds someone confirms they are entitled to do so, and we act on the instructions of anyone with management access.

Where an agency or a booking platform manages an artist on that artist's behalf, the agency confirms it has the authorisations it needs. We are not a party to the arrangement between an artist and its agency, and we do not settle disputes about who controls an artist. We may act to resolve one where we think it necessary.

Applications and the API

You decide which applications reach an artist you manage, and which reach your passport. Withdraw an application from your account and it stops reading through you immediately. The artist's own connection to that application is separate and outlives your withdrawal: it lasts until an owner disconnects the application on the artist. Copies already taken expire under the API conditions of use.

Approved applications are bound to a closed list of purposes and may not resell the data or build a copy of the register. We enforce that, but we do not control other people's systems, so we cannot promise every copy disappears the moment you withdraw.

What we may do

We may suspend an artist and its public pages, withdraw verification, revoke a passport, or block an account where these terms or the acceptable use rules are broken, where we are legally required to, or where leaving it would put people at risk. Lifting a suspension or a block restores what was there; we record the reason for every such decision.

You get a reason in writing every time, and you can appeal by replying to it. Where the problem can be fixed and there is no urgency, we ask you to fix it first. We act immediately only in cases of impersonation, unlawful content, a security risk, or a legal order.

Before we delete anything permanently on our own initiative, you get at least 30 days to ask us for a copy and take it out, unless the law or a security risk means we cannot wait.

Ending it

Delete your account from the account page whenever you like. You get 7 days to change your mind, and a mail with the link that stops it. After the 7 days your personal data goes and we confirm that by mail. Download your export first: it sits on the same page and holds everything personal we hold about you; Privacy for artists and their teams says what that leaves out and how to still get it.

An owner deletes an artist the same way, from the artist's settings. Every owner is mailed, any of them can stop it inside the 7 days, and after that the pages go offline, the files are removed, the team is cleared and connected applications lose the artist. What stays is an empty row holding the handle, so the handle is never given out again.

Deleting your account never deletes an artist. The artists you belong to carry on without you, and if you were the only owner of one it carries on with nobody at the wheel until a registrar seats a new owner.

What happens to your data afterwards is in Privacy for artists and their teams.

We may end this agreement with a month's notice for any reason, or immediately for the reasons above.

The service is free, and provided as it is

We aim to keep the register available, accurate and quick. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, add or remove features.

If we are going to stop the service, or remove something you rely on, we tell you at least 30 days beforehand and give you time to ask us for a copy.

Artists maintain their own profiles. We do not check what they enter for accuracy, and we are not responsible for what one artist publishes about anything.

Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Dutch law. Your rights as a consumer, if you are one, are unaffected by anything in these terms.

Beyond that, and because the service is free: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, revenue, bookings or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim is capped at €500.

You are responsible for what you publish, and you cover us for claims by third parties that arise from it.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Minor changes take effect when published here.

For a change that materially affects you, we give at least 30 days' notice by email and ask you to accept the new version. If you do not want to accept it, write to us and we close your account before it takes effect, and that costs you nothing. We will not treat carrying on quietly as acceptance of a material change.

Changes required by law take effect when the law does.

The dull but necessary part

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the court in Amsterdam, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring it somewhere else, which it may if you are a consumer.

Before going to court, write to us and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most things are a misunderstanding.

If any provision turns out to be invalid, the rest stands and the invalid part is read down to what is allowed.

The English version prevails over any translation.
