The website you added under Profile can be proven yours. That helps the verification check, and a proven domain can carry the website later.
Add the record
- Open Verification for the artist. The Domain section shows the hostname from your profile.
- Press Verify domain. We show one record.
- Add it at your DNS provider, where the domain's records are managed.
- Press Check DNS, or wait. We check every five minutes.

The name is _tap followed by your hostname. The value is the whole string we show; it is different for every artist.
When the record is found, the domain shows Verified with the date, and you get a mail.
It says Not found yet
DNS takes time. Most providers publish a record in minutes, some take up to a day. We keep checking for 14 days.
Check that the name is exactly _tap plus the hostname, and that the value is the whole string we showed. Some providers add the domain to the name for you; then enter only _tap.

Remove the domain
An owner presses Remove domain under the same section. The website stays on the profile as a channel.
