An artist starts with a handle. It becomes the address of every page: the website, the links page, the music page and the EPK all live under it.
Claim one
- Open the front page and type the handle you want in the field, or go straight to the claim page.
- Sign in with your email. We send a link and a code; there is no password.
- Give the artist's name, as it appears on the bill, and your role for the artist: artist, manager, tour manager, agent, publisher, label, publicist or crew.
- Tick the pages you want: the website, the links page, the music page and the EPK. All four start on; you can switch any of them on or off later on the page itself.
- Press Claim handle.
The artist opens on its overview with the setup steps for the pages you chose. Nothing is published yet.
What claimed means
An artist is claimed when someone owns it. You own the one you just made, so it is claimed the moment you press Claim handle. The role you picked does not decide this: a manager who owns the artist claims it, and a member you add without the owner permission does not.
What a handle can be
Lowercase letters and numbers, 3 to 30 characters, with at least one letter. The handle follows the artist name until you change it. A handle that is taken, or that is a word we keep for TAP itself, answers 'This handle is not available.'
The rules in full: What a handle can be.
You change the handle later on Profile, beside the name. On a verified artist both are locked and a change goes through a request TAP reviews: Change the handle.
Someone else manages the artist
Ask them to add your email to the team. The artist then shows up under Your artists when you sign in. Claiming a second handle for the same artist splits the artist in two, and only one of them can be verified.
