What helps

TAP looks at the people behind the profile. A phone number, a full profile, channels, a verified domain and a connected app make that quick.

Verification

The What helps section under Settings, on the Verification tab, lists five things and whether each is done.

Phone number

A verified number on your account. Required to request at all.

Profile

A bio and an avatar. The profile is what we read first.

Channels

Spotify, Instagram, YouTube: the places the artist already is, so we can see the same artist there. Add your channels.

Spotify for Artists

Invite TAP as a Reader on your Spotify for Artists team.

  1. Open Teams on Spotify for Artists. Already signed in? It is Teams in the menu top right.
  2. Invite the address shown under Spotify for Artists on the Verification page.

That address ends in your handle and is yours alone. Use the exact one on the page, or we cannot tell which artist the invite is for. We join the team only to check that the artist is in it, and leave straight after.

We email every owner when the channel is verified; you can request TAP verification separately from the Verification tab.

Website

The artist's domain, verified with one DNS record: Prove the domain is yours.

Apps with access

An app that holds the artist, like the agency's booking software, connected to it.

None of them is the check

These make a check quick. Which of them the check rests on is ours to decide, and it can differ per artist.

Still stuck?

Write to us with the handle and what you tried. A person answers, usually the same day.
