The EPK

Facts, intro, bio, notes, press quotes, photos, videos, logos, riders and contacts on one page, with a download of all of it and a print layout.

Pages

The EPK lives at the handle plus /epk. EPK is the press kit a promoter asks for: facts, intro, bio, notes, press quotes, photos, videos, logos, riders and contacts on one page. It shows only the sections that have content.

The sections

  • Facts, first: the genre, where you are from, how you perform, your set length, where you played, your label, your agent and your releases, one row each. Copy puts them in the paste buffer as one line per fact.
  • Intro, with a copy button: the short introduction, for a programme or a post.
  • Bio, with a copy button. A promoter wants the words in their paste buffer, not a file.
  • Notes, under the bio.
  • Press quotes, with a copy button: the quote, then the publication, the author and the date on one line. A quote with an address links to the piece.
  • Photos, each at the shape it was shot in. A photo opens at full size, and the section downloads as a zip.
  • Videos, after the photos, live sets first. The cover shows; the video loads from YouTube when a visitor presses play.
  • Logos, with a download of the section as a zip. A thumbnail opens the full file.
  • Riders, as a list of PDFs. Each row leads with what the file is, technical rider, stage plot, hospitality rider or input list, with your own file name under it, and opens in a new tab. Contacts with the advancing role are named under the list. The file streams through TAP; the address it is stored under never leaves TAP.
  • Contacts, each with Email, Call and Save contact, a contact card for the address book, and under them the message form: Contacts.

A file no browser can draw a preview of, a TIFF photo or an EPS logo, sits in a row under the grid with its name and its size.

Photos, logos and riders show in the order set on the EPK page; the arrows on each file move it one place.

At the top: the logo or the name, the verified badge once TAP has checked the artist, the channels, and Download all, which puts everything in one zip: the facts, intro, bio, notes, quotes and channels as text, the contacts as cards, the files in folders. A text file is in the zip only when you wrote it.

Riders

Riders sit on the page like the photos, for everyone the EPK opens for. To protect them, set the EPK to 'Only people you give access', or keep them off the EPK and send them by mail when a promoter asks.

Print

Print the page and the nav and buttons disappear. The heading becomes the artist's name and EPK, with a line saying it was printed from TAP.

Who finds it

The EPK starts out reachable but unlisted. Whether anyone can find it, only people with the link, or only people you give access is set in the bar above the EPK section, on the button that names its state: Who can see each page.

Set to 'Only people you give access', the page opens for a key you send, and on the Access tab you choose whether visitors can ask for one: Give someone access to the EPK.

When it is not ready

The EPK needs at least one press photo. Without one, a published artist shows 'This EPK is being updated' instead.
