Your export, and deleting your account

Download everything TAP holds about you, or close the account. Deleting takes 7 days, and you can stop it.

Your account

Both live in the danger zone at the foot of the account page.

The export

Download it whenever you want. It is a zip with:

  • account.json: your name, email address and phone number, whether each is verified, when you last used TAP, the advert or artist page that brought you here, your passport and every request behind it, the artists you belong to with your role and permission, which optional mail you switched off and when, the apps you authorised and the API keys you made, your account activity, and every mail we sent you, with when it was delivered, opened, first clicked, bounced or marked as spam.
  • avatar/: your photo, the file itself.

It is your data, not an artist's. The artists you belong to have their own export under Settings: Export and delete.

Deleting your account

  1. Press Delete account in the danger zone. Three presses confirm it.
  2. You get a mail saying the account is set to be deleted, with the date and where to stop it.
  3. For 7 days nothing happens. Press Keep my account on the account page and it is off.
  4. After 7 days the account is emptied and a last mail goes to your address.

Signing in during those 7 days does not stop it. The countdown sits on your account page with the button that does, so a sign-in link that reached the wrong person cannot quietly undo the decision.

Download the export before you delete. Once the 7 days are up it is gone with everything else.

What deleting does

  • Your name, email address, phone number and photo go.
  • Your passport goes, with every request behind it.
  • You leave every artist you belong to.
  • Every browser is signed out, every app you authorised loses its access, and your API keys stop working.
  • Your account activity stays, with nobody's name on it. A record of who did what has to outlive the person, so the account row survives as an empty marker.
  • The address you signed in with is free again. You can sign up with it the same day.

What deleting does not do

Your artists carry on. Deleting your account never deletes an artist: the profile, the pages and the rest of the team are untouched, because the artist is not only yours.

If you were the only owner of an artist, it carries on with nobody at the wheel. Nothing is lost, but nobody can edit it or manage its team until an owner is seated. Hand ownership to someone else before you go, on the artist's Team page: What an owner can do that a member cannot. If it is too late, write to us and TAP seats one.

To end an artist as well as your account, delete the artist first: Export and delete.

If your account is blocked

A blocked account cannot use the delete button. Write to the address in the sign-in error and we handle it: Suspended artists and blocked accounts.

Still stuck?

Write to us with the handle and what you tried. A person answers, usually the same day.
